More New Bike Pondering
I believe that the people at the Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative will be supplying me with my new bike.
I think I’ll be going for a touring type bike, but there are a few non-toury ones here. These ones look pretty good:
Revolution Cross ’09
Like the fact that they have learner brakes on the top of the handlebars
Revolution Country Traveller ’09
Again, like the fact that they have learner brakes on the top of the handlebars. Doesn’t have the disc brakes of the more expensive one below.
Revolution Country Explorer ’09
Doesn’t have the learner brakes of the two models above. Nicer spec though.
Specialized Sirrus Sport ’09
Regular handlebars, larger than mountain bike wheels. Regular handlebars, decent spec, like the price.
Specialized Sirrus Elite ’09
Regular handlebars, larger than mountain bike wheels. Like the look of the frame with its carbon forks. Apparently “It’s like riding with subtle suspension but without the weight penalty and that’s a FACT”.
I’m holding out for a few weeks, it’s a big investment and I don’t want to make the wrong decision. Should also wait for a mid month to see if I can actually afford.
I’d go for the last one – looks good, sounds good – and thats a FACT!
You should take a couple out on a test ride though just so you can get a feel for which one you’d prefer riding on.
I didn’t do this when I got my Felt, and although it’s not that bad a bike – I bet I could have found a better one with a few test rides.
Do they let you do test rides? I assume so otherwise you wouldn’t have said eh
. I found out last night… guess who does 12 months interest free credit on their bikes…. oh yeah! Think I’ll be getting one in 2 weeks. This totally helps me in my quest to spend more money than I have. Thanks Edinburgh Bike Coop!
Wow – I didn’t realise they did 12 months Interest Free Credit…
Interesting…
** Goes off to look online at Edinburgh Bike Coop **
They don’t mention the interest free deal on the site, but they do in their catalogue.
