Week 2 in review

Here are the exercise hours:

Week 2 : 23th – 30th January
Saturday 0
Sunday 0
Monday 2hr Spin
Tuesday 0
Wednesday 1hr Spin
Thursday 1hr swim 30 mins run
Friday 30th 0
Total: 4.5 hrs

So, not a brilliant number of hours there. I cut back a bit this week, the reasons being:

  1. I was planning on a cycle outing at the weekend
  2. I’d been told not to over train by a fellow com-padre and fat blogger
  3. I’d  done a lot of training the previous week and put weight on

I don’t know if I lost anything last week as Saturday was when I check, and I’ve been away all weekend. I checked during the week and there was no gain. I managed to keep a record of calories in for a day, but then stopped.

I’ve become a bit despondent on the weight front to be honest, although that doesn’t take much. I do need to get out more on the bike as that reminds me that I need to try harder. It really isn’t easy, but then nothing is, is it.

I’d like to end on more than an oh well, but it’s another average week in the fight to get fit and thin. Thankfully this and following fellow fat cycle bloggers keeps me going. It can be done, it can be done.

Losing weight is a slow process if you want to do it the healthy way. Also remember muscle weighs more than fat so look at things like waist measurements as well!

I am officially in the overweight bracket with my BMI (to be fair I do half a stone I could lose) but I wear size 10/12 so I don’t think I need to worry. Worth bearing in mind when you are exercising!

I need to keep reminding myself of this fact Trio! It should be slow. I do need to cut out the sweets though. And I think I eat too much in quantity. I actually eat pretty healthily. I don’t eat processed food and I eat very little in the way of fried food, breads, cakes and I certainly don’t eat pastry. I do have a sweet tooth though, and find it difficult to resist chocolate. If I totally abstain, after a while I can do without. I might have to have a really strict week next week. Resist even the small bits of chocolate.

But if your BMI tells you you’re in overweight bracket I may as well forget BMI completely. I probably need to lose at least 4 stone. Would take me out of the danger zone.

Trio is spot on – it took me a year to get to where I am. You saw me on Sat and Im still considered overweight – mwhahahaha!

But unlike Trio, I wear a size 8 and look damn good!

You’ll get there – and rides like on Sat will help.

Looks alright to me. Certainly a lot more than i’ve done.

  5. EJ says:

Clearly if Trio and Joby are considered overweight, then 90% of the population would be considered fat :o . And there’s no hope for the rest of us!

I believe that the main problem is quantity. I’m going to make an effort to reduce quantities and eat less more often. Also, this week is no chocolate week. For the moment I just need to have a blanket ban on chocolate.

Definitely need to do more bike rides as they bring home the need to reduce. You just don’t get that on a turbo.

It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Even perseverance is a collection of short pushes and not a long effort and other such bollox. I believe that your body is a very smart machine, if you train too hard or eat too little it will work to keep energy in storage.

It is a difficult balancing act hen and I’m rooting for you. At least you have found a sport that you love, though I’m with you on the turbo front as I just have to be outside for it to feel like cycling.

Lots of small changes are easier, more sustainable and far more likely to succeed than a blanket ban on all things “unhealthy”. I drink wine, eat takeaways and look far better than I used to. :-)

I have found that recording everything that goes into my mouth helps me figure out patterns though.

Go on The Rush, get riding, we have a fatbloggers ride to organise :D
